An interesting study emerged this week linking child obesity to the level of care a child recieves from its grandparents.
Using data from the Milleniun Cohort Study, researchers from University College London have outlined the link between children that are cared for regularly by their grandparents and risk of obesity. The study finds that in 12,000 three year old children throughout the UK are at a  34% higher risk of obesity, whilst those that went to nursery or had a childminder had much lower risk levels.

The British Heart Foundation has released a troubling report which includes some startling statistics on child exercise. It highlights that many children in the UK are not getting nearly enough exercise, with a percentage of children not even getting 30 minutes of exercise each day.
